Blog Review, entry #1

First my first thoughts about blogs are the hit TV show "Dog with a Blog" which is basically in past tense be it shows the dog typing about the day at the end of the show. Which makes me think about all these new blogs I have seen, because some are personal which I think they are blogs, then there's like news article type blogs or the cook book one we saw not too long ago. So I do suppose my opinion on blogs is just confusion on what's the difference between a blog and regular news article, and also that they are very outdated and a very roundabout way of saying something, just use Twitter or Facebook.

I read through three different blogs that seemed interesting based off title alone. the blogs in question are "Olga, the traveling bra", "Cake Wrecks", and "Awkward Family Photos". Id say "Olga, the traveling bra" is my favorite just do to the fact that it is named Olga which I will be using for my next hospital dog, and least favorite which isn't by much would be "Cake Wrecks" because we sort of see this type of blog in terms of TV shows but it still is a good blog just my least favorite of the three.

"Olga, the traveling bra" is pretty simple, its just some people taking a black bra named Olga on a journey around the world, kind of like that robot that went coast to coast in Canada by hitch hiking but then tried in the USA and didn't even make it out of Philly because it was literally beaten to death with multiple weapons. But this has more fun or more human interaction, that is very weird in most of the pictures but nothing that cant be handled. I do believe the blog is written from two different perspectives that being the main writer and Olga (yes the bra) for example "who, by the way, became quite FAMOUS after appearing all over the internet with ME on her head!"  which does get confusing but you will figure it out.  (https://olgathetravelingbra.blogspot.com/)

The next blog I chose was "Cake Wrecks" which has more professional good looking cakes than messed up monstrosities that could be called cake and probably taste good but I personally would never consume it. That is also why I chose this to be my least favorite because I wanted to see more of these horrific cakes but then it shows me a panda eating bamboo in cake form and I think that probably taste horrible and even if it did taste amazing its morally wrong to eat a panda in any form. Also there was a sloth cake and the caption just says this "Because he's seen things, man. He's seen things..." which is accurate to the cake because it looks like its having Vietnam flash backs but in reality sloths can barely keep there eyes open. There were however horrible looking cakes at the bottom but it was only three cakes in contrast to the ten perfectly crafted cakes. (http://www.cakewrecks.com/)

The third blog I found was "Awkward Family Photos", this only I feel isn't so much a blog rather than just a website with a archive of horrendous photos that people have taken. It is funny however to know that this will and never be my family because we hate looking at ourselves, so there are very little "family photos" but more individuals photos that we just send to our grandparents and aunts if they ask. But for starts with this blog, its very confusing at first because the title is "photos" with a plural "S" but then goes to only show one photo of three dudes skiing with a relatively small description, but upon more looking around there are hot links at the top of archived photos based on category, which I thought was amazing because then you can skip all the boring stuff and go straight to the awkward family animal photos which are 95% always bad unless your animal is good at staying still.  although I did call these blogs I still wouldn't say they are actual blogs besides "Olga the traveling bra" that one is more of a blog to me but the other two and others that I saw weren't really blogs more like articles to me. And again "Dog with a blog", now that is a blog.

  1. Hey Brysen
I didn't even think to compare it with dog with the blog. I am happy that some one did that. My family doesn't like taking family pictures either, so we all just do what your family does and send family members are own pictures. "Olga, the traveling bra" sounds pretty interesting I might have to go take a look at it.

  2. I remember when that experiment was being done with the robot; it's funny people are doing that with a bra.

  3. I find it very humorous that you mentioned that show due to my own thoughts while writing my own blog being very similar. I also relate to pictures being token of me that I despise.
